We know our Lady has called us to pray and sacrifice. But did you know that a specific call to prayer was made in 1979? It is not well known, but Mary Our Mother appeared to Sr. Lucia in that year, and called for prayer and sacrifice, especially for priests. Let’s heed our Mother’s request, as now more than ever it seems like evil is rampant in our world and Church. Let’s pray for our spiritual leaders who face continual temptation; pray that they may be strengthened in their vocation. David Carollo from the Blue Army joins Drew to discuss.

Born in Newark, NJ, on June 16, 1944. His Excellency, the Most Reverend Nicholas DiMarzio, attended the Immaculate Conception Seminary in Darlington, NJ, was ordained a Roman Catholic Priest in 1970; and named Prelate of Honor by Pope John Paul II in 1986.
In July of 1999, Bishop DiMarzio was appointed as the Sixth Bishop of Camden, New Jersey, and served there until October 2003, when he was installed as the Seventh Bishop of Brooklyn at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Basilica. Bishop DiMarzio has spent his ministry of over 40 years in the areas of immigration assistance and refugee resettlement services.

Reverend Luke grew up in small town Indiana. Raised nominally Catholic, he experienced a profound conversion while at a rock concert during his freshman year at Ball State U. He transferred to Franciscan University of Steubenville.
Upon graduating from Franciscan University in 1996, he joined the Community of Franciscan Friars of the Renewal. The friars live a radical life concentrated on prayer, fraternity, hands on work with the poor and the new evangelization. Fr. Luke was ordained to the priesthood in 2003. He served as vocation director, postulant director, and presently, director of priestly studies. Fr. Luke gives retreats and leads pilgrimages.

Fr. Matt attended Holy Apostles Seminary in Cromwell, CT, as a belated vocation. He was ordained in the Marian Year on Jan. 11, 1988 and served as chaplain of the Catholic University in the Diocese of Ponce, Puerto Rico.He was been serving in the Diocese of Bridgeport since 1991. In 2005, Fr. Matt earned his Licentiate Degree (S.T.L.) in the Theology of Mary at the International Marian Research Institute located at the University of Dayton, a branch of the Pontifical Marianum University in Rome, Italy. Currently, Fr. Matt is the chaplain of St. Camillus Nursing Home in Stamford, CT. He has been regular columnist of Soul Magazine for over ten years and is the author of two books.
